When we began offerring digital weather stations, the first manufacturer with whom we had become close, featured built-in atomic clocks in nearly all of their weather stations. This provided a heck of a data logging advantage as the date and time of the weather events being captured/stored was accurately time and date stamped. It also beat the Dickens out of dialing "P-O-P-C-O-R-N" whenever one of our 4 girls blew the circuit breakers with their nuclear blow dryers for their hair almost every morning. This went on for about 7 years straight, occurring during those years known as "adolescence."
In the meantime, our rep at one of the larger manufacturers kept egging us on to carry his digital and analog atomic clocks, some of which had wireless outdoor temp, humidity and weather forecast. Others they offered were simple, yet very attractive and functional atomic analog wall clocks. We gave it a try finally and a funny thing happened. We really liked the product... personally and professionally. We began using the clocks in our home.
It turns out that a very close knit relationship has always been enjoyed by the two genres: Ms. Weather and Father Time. For a forever time, nautical devices have been seen in triads: Barometer, Thermometer/Hygrometer, and Clock. To this day, the analog trios are still very much in demand as most are not only precision devices, they are generally crafted with great style, elegance and rigor.
As soon as we offered the first atomic clocks for sale at WeatherBuffs.com, they were a huge hit with folks shopping for weather stations. Now, with 40% of our annual business in clocks alone, we're finding that people interested in buying clocks seem to like weather stations!
Once we had stocked all the atomics we wanted to carry from La Crosse and Acu-Rite, the non-atomic, wonderfully crafted clocks of Howard Miller, Bulova, Infinity and River City just were a natural evolution in our product line. And we've just added a new line of incredibly crafted and wonderfully fashionable Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer and Clocks by Whitehall, MetalWorks and StoneWorks. Like so many we carry, these models are just plain remarkable! Ashton-Sutton added fun, fashion clocks to the line.
And with the addition of Howard Miller to accentuate our wondrous offerrings from River City and Infinity, we just had to create a new category called, "Exquisite Clocks." We've added larger pictures to these listings that may challenge your monitor's ability to display them. But even if you have to scroll a bit or wait a tad longer for the page to load, you won't regret the slight inconvenience when you see these incredible pieces of art in as life-like a manner as is possible electronically! When you consider these clocks, think of them not as a purchase but rather as a new part of your life from this point forth. Because that is what they will be: indisposable, irreplaceable, imaginative and inspiring works that you'll absolutely love to see each and every day.
Why do we carry clocks? Because we've found some of the world's most remarkable, fashionable and functional clocks and we just absolutely think they're wonderful.
Thanks for asking!
P.S. Did you see the jaw-dropping Waterfall Floor Clocks by Howard Miller? They're the model #s HM-615-052 & HM-615-058.. If you thought floor clocks weren't ever in your future, check these out. But don't let the wife see it unless you're prepared to BUY ONE NOW! Includes rocks. You just add water!
