5 of 5 Best value February 26, 2012
Reviewer: MIKE PENNINGTON from AMARILLO, TX United States
Have had this unit for 6 years now, and it is still functioning flawlessly.  Yearly maintenance is minimal and has needed no repairs.  Installation was a breeze.   The console is well designed and can be backlit, although this will cause inside temperature reading to warm.  In areas of frequent lightning, it is best to unplug and use battery power.   All settings are very accurate with the only limitation being the 2.5 second polling on wind speed and direction.  This can cause high wind gust to be missed.  Without spending thousands, this station is about as good as it gets.

5 of 5 Weather Station January 6, 2008
Reviewer: Ranger from Alabaster, AL
I have a Davis Vantage Pro 2 wireless station and I love it. I've had mine for 3 years now and no problems with it. It does everything that Davis said it does the only thing you have to do is once a year you have to replace the outside battery they are cheap so no big deal. I know this station is a good one because the local TV weather station they got the same thing so that says a lot.

5 of 5 Professional Quality, Easy to Set up & Fun January 6, 2008
Reviewer: Durban Guy from Brisbane, CA
I've had this for about six weeks now and I am really enjoying it. Easy to set-up (I'm not a techno expert) and I also bought the weatherlink software too for the PC which was also easy to set-up. It's a little expensive but I feel the quality is worth it (made in USA!). Got a very competitive price. The wireless and solar aspects sold me too as I have it mounted on my roof deck and my PC is three levels below. My house sits on a high ridge and it is fun to see the diffent weather conditions being monitored. It has proven to be very accurate with other readings not far away. I wish it would measure earthquakes too!

5 of 5 How Serious Are You About Your Weather? December 28, 2007
Reviewer: Ken Smith from Pleasanton, CA
We took care of a home in Hawai'i that had a Davis Vantage Pro2 station installed and though I am the "weather nut" in the family, my wife became very interested and checked the full-function console screen every day. Each gust of wind would cause her to ask: "How strong was THAT one?" After five weeks there she was the one that suggested we order one for our home. I never dreamed that I could own one like this but it was priced so good that it is possible. The installation was simply clamping it to a 2" diameter pipe that sits in a cup on the deck and attaches to the eave of the house. I carry the console to the neighbors and show it off. They may purchase their own console (about $300) and read data from my transmitter package (1,000' range), or I can place duplicat consoles in the greenhouse, garage, or den, with a limit of eight total. Also, each console will re-transmit to another, in a "daisy-chain" fashion. Not only does this device display more current items then you could ever think of, it maintains past data and graphically depicts the previous 24 hours of most items. As an example, for rainfall you will get totals for today, this month, this year, the last 24 years (if it was running then), the current rate of rainfall, and the total rain for this storm. It will also tell you the totals of the last 24 storms. How accurate is it? With the optional software, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will accept your data, (you can read about it if you go to: [...]), as well as schools and other groups. Optional equipment will allow you to determine if you should water your plants, to measure temperature in multiple places, and to read solar radiation levels. We are VERY happy with our Davis Vantage Pro2 system and strongly recommend it to you.

5 of 5 Beyond Belief - Engineering Excellence! December 9, 2006
Reviewer: Sewell L. Keeter from Roseville, CA
Set-up is relatively simple and the manuals are excellent. Now, for the fun of watching real-time storms. I turned off the TV and watched the LCD screen for hours encouraging the next raindrop to fall or the next gust of wind to be stronger. Just when I thought I had rung out all the information, I toggled the rain/year button and found more history. My uncle, a former cotton farmer, would have paid just about any price for this incredible piece of equipment. Last night, it rained 0.47 inches before midnight and 0.46 after. High wind was 24mph at 11PM. It has 100 forecast messages and I hope to see them all. My neighbors are envious.  I liked it so much I bought a second console--one for the bedroom.

5 of 5 Amazing! November 3, 2006
Reviewer: David M. Wenning
I am a relative weather novice and I have only owned this station for a few days. So far, I am impressed. The directions were clear, complete and easy to follow. I took my time and read carefully, yet I had the whole thing put together in an hour and a half. When I powered up the base station, it was amazing watching it come alive reading by reading.  In another half hour, I had the sensors installed on their mast. Since then, the station has run flawlessly and it has been a pleasure getting to know its features. The controls are intuitive and easy to learn.  Since this went so well, I have gone ahead and ordered the PC link and software.  Would I recommend it? Absolutely.
