DESCRIPTION
The RainWise Ultrasonic Snow Sensor measures snow depth by sending a sound wave, above the range of hearing, at the surface of the snow and measuring the time for the sound echo to return. Knowing the speed of sound, the sensor can determine the distance to the snow and determine its depth accordingly.

The gauge is equipped with a ten foot galvanized steel tripod and extension tube that permits measurements from ground level to a depth of fifteen feet.

URGENT NOTE:
To make a complete monitoring solution, the output of the sensor will be cable connected to a RainWise data logger (SOLD SEPARATELY) via buriable cable (SOLD SEPARATELY). It may be possible to connect this directly to your own automation or monitoring system. Please ask before purchasing.
