I have had a number of weather stations in my life but this one beats them all. I got it yesterday and had it set up in a couple of hours. It replaced a wired LaCrosse which cost me $87 bucks. Well, you get what you pay for. Amazingly, it predicted a 24-hour forecast which included light precipitation, a wind shift, all of which happened. It even measured the .01 inch of sprinkles which fell today. Most stations won't give you that kind of detail, they either measure .02 or more likely .04 before they even record rain. I got the 6153 model which includes a solar powered asperation fan. As soon as I took it outside it started humming without me doing anything. If you read the fine print, a non asperated housing can cause a variance of 6 degrees at high noon. The 6153 model varies only by .6 of a degree. Since my station is in the baking sun of Las Vegas, I need a continual air flow to get an accurate summer reading. The backlight is fine for a bedroom, you can leave it on and it won't light up the room. Take it from one who has been buying and constructing weather stations for 30 years (remember Heathkit?), this is by far the best and the price is not high considering what you get. The only shortcoming is the absence of of good mounting hardware. I mounted my wind vane away from the main unit, you don't need their $30 mounting pole, just hit Home Depot for a 5' metal pole and some U-bolts. I may consider an extra console and a data logger, be advised the console is much bigger than it appears in the pictures. The instructions are excellent and, guess what, it is made in California, not China, as are most of the other weather stations. This one has it all. Go for it.
